Buying A Cessna Citation Jet
Looking at the market value of Citation V and Citation Ultra Cessna for sale from June 2000 until now, it becomes obvious that they are making a comeback. This initial downward trend in market value was clearly reflected in the amount of Citation Cessna for Sale during January and May of 2002.
Of the 279 Citation Ultra produced, there were 37 of these Cessnas in January 2002. This means that there was 13% of the entire fleet of Citation Ultra Cessna for sale during that month. Of the 262 Citation V produced, there were 51 of these for sale in May 2002. This means there was 20% of the entire fleet of Citation V at that point in time. The supply levels of Citation Cessna's for sale, very gradually started reducing after this all time low.
Considering the amount of Citation's on the market today, it is apparent that the Citation is turning out to be a worthwhile investment. In example, there are only 6 Cessna Citation Ultra's for sale globally at the moment, fetching a price of $4.7 million, compared to the 22 Cessna Citation Ultra's for sale a half a year ago at a price of $4.5 million.
The same trend can be seen in Cessna Citation V. At the moment, there are 21 Cessna Citation V's for sale globally at an average price of $3.7 million each. Barely a year ago, there were 33 Citation V Cessna's for sale, at around $3.4 million apiece.
We believe that the price will remain stable for the next couple of months and that a further hike in price on both Citation V and Citation Ultra Cessna for sale can be expected soon thereafter. Now is probably the best time to buy a Cessna Citation, regardless of whether for investment or for business purposes.
